Compliance: Who does BEE Apply to?



There are three categories:

  1. Exempted Micro Enterprise First year of trading or Turnover less than R10M per annum
  2. Qualifying Small Enterprise Turnover between R10M and R50M per annum

Elements of BEE



There are five elements:

  1. Ownership Percentage of shares that are owned by black people (African, Indian, Coloured)
  2. Management Control + Employment Equity The management and the employes in the business
  3. Skills development (a priority element) This measures the amount of money spent on training of black employees
  4. Enterprise & Supplier Development The organisations spend on helping other black owned enterprises
  5. Socio-Economic Development The organisations spend on assisting charitable organisations
